The French Bulldog is a small to medium size dog. Frenchie's are highly intelligent, active, muscular and have huge personalities. Though they generally love the water, most cannot swim. I recommend a life jacket when visiting bodies of water. They are very curious animals so be mindful of things they may eat off the ground.  Most do very well on adventures like hiking, but monitor breathing. Do not allow them to over exert themselves. It is the heat that generally gets them so be sure they stay cooled on hot days. Frenchie's should not be permitted to jump from high places. This can cause spinal injury. When choosing your bulldog, inquire about the health and temperament of their parents. Many of these traits are genetically shared. Ask for photos of as many related dogs as they can provide and from many angels. Videos are great references. Ask about any health, breathing, behavioral issues or injuries within the line. Finally ask how their dogs are kept as well as their litters of puppies. Choose a puppy from a well socialized and loving household to help with their transition to their new home. This breed will bring your family years of joy and laughter. 

Frenchies make the most wonderful companions. They are big enough to keep up with the big dogs, and small enough to play with the little ones. They are the right size to fly with you on a plane. You can pick them up when you need to. Some are short and thick, some are more leggy. Our frenchie's weight range is 14-26lbs.
